Their cities, academies, and observatories rise beneath the light of the Great Day Star, whose energy they study, honor, and harness. The Solaryn Reliquary stands as the birthplace of many of Aethoria’s most accomplished mages and scholars. Here, knowledge is the most revered commodity in the realm.

The people of the Solaryn Reliquary believe that all magic, science, and progress stem from comprehension of the world’s deeper truths. Their scholars study everything — from the behavior of flame to the movement of the stars.

Education is the greatest wealth in Solaryn society. Libraries rival treasuries in importance, and academies are built with the same grandeur as palaces. Children are taught to question, to test ideas, and to seek answers in both magic and reason.

Because the continent stretches across both hemispheres, Solaryn lands contain nearly every climate found in Aethoria. Tropical valleys, temperate forests, alpine peaks, and frozen northern plains all exist within its borders.

Helion — City of the Sun

Helion’s architecture reflects the Solaryn devotion to the Day Star. Golden stone, mirrored crystal panels, and reflective towers capture sunlight and channel it through magical instruments used by the realm’s mages.

Bymotha — Gateway to the Wildlands

Far from the shining towers of Helion lies Bymotha, a city that began as a small frontier town along the head of the river Losden where it narrows and snakes out from the nearby northern peaks.

Nestled among rolling hills and forests in the shadow of the Helion Mountains, Bymotha grew from a humble waypoint into one of the most important settlements on the northern frontier. Travellers bound for the northern wildlands often pass through Bymotha to prepare for the dangers ahead.

Today Bymotha is no longer a small outpost. It has grown into a thriving city that rivals Helion in influence and welcomes explorers, merchants, and scholars alike.

The Watchtower of Bymotha

Overlooking the town stands an ancient watchtower built centuries ago to warn of threats emerging from the northern wilderness — lands now associated with the territories of the Astryx Arcanum.

Though weathered by time, the tower remains a symbol of vigilance and resilience for the people of Bymotha. Its weathered stone walls and battlements evoke a deep sense of history, reminding the townsfolk of their enduring connection to the land.

Ruodoon, the Sleeping Volcano

Standing just beyond the eastern gates of Helion rises one of the most remarkable structures in all of Aethoria: The Helios Spire.

At midday, when the Day Star stands highest in the sky, the Spire ignites with light as its mirrored surfaces capture the sun’s brilliance and refract it into shimmering beams that cascade across the city below.

For many Solaryns, the Helios Spire is more than a scientific monument. It is a symbol of their guiding belief: understanding the heavens brings enlightenment to the world below.

The Southern Seas

Though the Mechanum Ascendancy lies to the south of the Solaryn Reliquary, the two realms do not share a direct land border.

Instead, the southern reaches of the Solaryn continent taper into a wide coastline that meets the Southern Ocean, forming a natural maritime boundary between the two civilizations.

Across these waters lie the northern shores of the Mechanum Ascendancy. Trade vessels and research ships frequently cross this ocean corridor, carrying scholars, mechanical engineers, and rare crystals between the two realms.

Despite their very different philosophies — one devoted to knowledge and the other to precision and engineered progress — the Solaryn Reliquary and the Mechanum Ascendancy maintain a cautious but productive relationship.
