The Astryx Arcanum
Capital: Luminary Prime
Philosophy: Memory preserves civilization
Motto: “All is recorded on tablets of Crystalite”
North of Upper and Lower Helion, the Astryx Arcanum keeps Aethoria’s memory among mountains, crystal, and quiet halls. Its scholars preserve what rulers and centuries might otherwise erase.

Astryx occupies the broad northern reach of the eastern continent. Mountains shelter it from the Mystral Archive to the west, the Solaryn Reliquary to the south, and the ocean along its eastern coast.

The Repository of Aethorian Memory stands in the capital, beyond the changing political authority of Kefar.
Austere robes, blue cloaks, practical books, and crystal wards reflect the realm’s disciplined service to knowledge.
The Astryx Arcanum is a northern empire whose greatest charge is to preserve knowledge. Mages study, interpret, and record; Guardians protect the people, roads, and archives that make that work possible. Its capital, Luminary Prime, is also home to the Library of the Astryx Arcanum.
The Arcanum’s guiding belief is simple: memory preserves civilization. Medical discoveries, arcane practices, historical accounts, and cherished traditions are kept so that each generation can learn from those before it.
Astryx lies above Upper and Lower Helion and the Solaryn Reliquary. A rugged mountain wall separates it from Solaryn to the south; another rises toward the Mystral Archive in the west. Steep coastal mountains face the eastern ocean.
These barriers have helped protect the northern archive, while the few passes remain vital routes for scholars, healers, and the Guardians who accompany them.
At the heart of the realm stands Luminary Prime, a capital known above all for study and preservation. Its great library was established away from the political centre on the Isle of Kefar, so that the record of Aethoria would not depend on whoever held power there.
The library is the Repository of Aethorian Memory, with roots in the earliest days of Astryx society. Within its halls are records of healing, magic, history, and the traditions of many generations. Its Northerner scribes, historians, and scholars are custodians of the past and witnesses to the present.
In the central chamber, an enormous Aethoria Tree has grown around a multifaceted crystal. Its ancient, glowing limbs form part of the architecture itself. Scholars study the crystal’s resonance with the knowledge housed around it; the tree and crystal together have become the archive’s most enduring symbol.
Important records are copied to the Heartwood Archive as a safeguard against catastrophe. The rarest materials are protected in a vault beneath the library.
“All is recorded on tablets of Crystalite” expresses the Arcanum’s duty to make knowledge durable. Recording is not merely a scholar’s habit here; it is a promise to those who will need an account long after its witnesses are gone.
The people of Astryx are known for an ascetic manner. Their plain white dress and measured customs place attention on study, care, and duty rather than display. Mages, Healers, historians, scribes, and Guardians each serve the same larger charge: to keep useful memory alive.
Memory preserves civilization.
All is recorded on tablets of Crystalite, so that what Aethoria learns may endure beyond any one ruler, city, or age.
