Bank of Ironroot

The Bank of Ironroot stands as the great financial safeguard of HeroClass, where adventurers may protect their coin, grow their fortunes through prudence, or tumble headfirst into debt with all the grace of a goblin somersaulting into a vault door.

Decree of the Bank of Ironroot

As issued by the Guardian Bank of Ironroot, under seal of the Crystal Exchange and with approval from the Exchequer of Kefar.

Hear ye, Adventurers of the Realm!

A new age of commerce dawns upon HeroClass. Henceforth, all brave souls may entrust their Gold Pieces (GP) to the venerable Bank of Ironroot, where wealth may be stowed, grown, or borrowed in accordance with the Financial Laws of Aethoria.

Whether one chooses prudence, ambition, or the regrettable path of “I’ll just borrow now and surely nothing awful will happen,” the ledgers of Ironroot remember every choice.

Deposits of Gold – Let Thy Fortune Grow

The reward of patience belongs only to those whose balance rises.
Deposit all gold
Prudent Saver Reward
5% Monthly
Interest is granted only when thy holdings increase beyond the prior month.
5% interest Compounded monthly Only if balance increases
Adventurers who deposit GP into the Bank of Ironroot may earn a monthly reward of 5% interest, compounded monthly. But the bank is no fool: this reward is granted only if thy deposit exceeds the previous month’s balance. Sloth, stagnation, and mattress-hoarding earn nothing.

Book of Balances
Ledger
The realm’s accountants have opinions, and sadly they are binding.
Tallied monthly Last day of month Visible in balance records
Interest is tallied on the last day of each month and inscribed beneath “Monthly Interest (Prudent Saver Reward)” in the Book of Balances. The ledger never forgets. It is basically a magical spreadsheet with better branding.
Safe Banking Rule: Gold stored in the Bank is protected, respected, and eligible for reward. Gold clutched nervously in your wallet is just future chaos wearing shiny boots.

Overdraft Loans – Beware the Siren’s Song

Mercy is offered, but never for free.
The Bank of Ironroot

Emergency Loans from the Ledger

Should an adventurer fall below zero GP, the Bank of Ironroot shall extend an emergency loan up to 1,000 GP, entered upon the dreaded Overdraft Ledger.

This mercy is no gift. The debt grows quickly, visibly, and with all the compassion of a stone Guardian counting coins in a storm.

Once the first deficit begins, a repayment timer is set in motion. Delay is dangerous. Ignoring debt is less a strategy and more a dramatic audition for disaster.

Overdraft Limit
-1,000 GP
A safety net with teeth.
Emergency only Visible in ledger Debt tracked openly
The bank will allow a player to descend as low as -1,000 GP through emergency overdraft protection. This debt appears in the Overdraft Ledger and under Total Owed.
📈
Loan Interest
21% Weekly
Compounding. Rapidly. Rudely.
21% weekly Compounded Debt swells fast
Overdraft debt compounds weekly at a perilous rate of 21%. Those who delay repayment will watch their debt grow with astonishing enthusiasm.

Caution
Gold returns to thy wallet immediately, but not without consequence.
Instant return to wallet May reduce monthly growth Can cancel interest reward
Gold withdrawn from the bank returns immediately to thy wallet. Yet if this causes a net reduction from last month’s holdings, no interest shall be granted during the next reckoning.
Warning of the Ledger: Debt is visible. Debt grows. Debt does not become less real because you dramatically avoid looking at it.

Sanctions and Repercussions

The Exchequer of Kefar is not especially moved by excuses.

Failure to resolve one’s debts may incur grave penalties under the Financial Laws of Aethoria. These punishments are enforced by decree and may include one or more of the following:

❤️
Loss of Heart Health
Penalty
Debt can wound more than pride.
Repeated failure to repay debts may result in loss of Heart Health, weakening the adventurer directly.
💎
Forced Sale of Vaulted Crystals
Penalty
The bank likes repayment more than sentiment.
Vaulted crystal holdings may be seized and sold to recover unpaid debt, often at the worst possible time.
Forfeiture of XP
Penalty
Poor choices may literally make thee less powerful.
In severe cases, XP may be forfeited as punishment for ignoring the debt of the Overdraft Ledger.

Beware the Summons of the Realm – Unbanked Gold is Vulnerable

Only banked GP is immune from taxation events.

Adventurers, take heed! Any Gold Pieces not secured within the vaults of the Bank of Ironroot may be subject to taxation during a Random Event of the Day at a rate of 10% of thy GP.

These taxes are not theft, but a summons from the High Council of Aethoria, levied in the name of development. Roads must be paved, ports supported, protective wards renewed, and bridges raised across wild rivers and storm-swept plains.

Thus, those who hoard GP in hand rather than entrusting it to the vaults of Kavrok risk involuntary contribution to the greater good. A most noble outcome, I’m sure, unless it was your money.

Tax Warning: Only banked GP is immune from taxation events. Wallet gold is exposed.
“Infrastructure is the silent blade that keeps the realm standing.”
